Workshop Controller - CCL

Continental Cars Ltd specialises in Automotive and has an opportunity for a Workshop Controller to join our team on full-time basis.
Overall Purpose
The Workshop Controller is responsible for coordinating daily activities within the workshop, ensuring smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks. This role involves communicating repair estimates and updates on vehicle status to vehicle owners, Service Advisors, and the Workshop Manager as needed. The Workshop Controller monitors parts orders and delivery status to ensure parts are available when needed for effective repair planning. Accurate documentation of all repairs performed is maintained in Kerridge to provide clear and detailed records for both the client and the vehicle’s service history.
Main Duties and Responsabilities
- Coordinate daily repair operations to ensure all scheduled tasks are completed on time, considering technician availability and repair complexity.
- Collaborate with the Workshop Manager and workshop team to uphold repair quality, safety standards, and efficient workflow throughout the day.
- Conduct daily progress meetings and promptly report any issues or unexpected delays to the Workshop Manager.
- Maintain adequate stock levels of workshop consumables, such as AC refrigerant, brake cleaner, grease, hand soap, and other essential supplies, to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Ensure special tools and workshop equipment are maintained in good working condition.
- Provide support to production staff as required to maintain workflow and repair standards.
- Notify the Workshop Manager of complex diagnoses or repairs, particularly those that may lead to customer dissatisfaction or complaints.
- Conduct test drives with customers to verify reported concerns. If a fault is evident, compile an estimate and communicate it to the customer.
- Coordinate customer appointments in collaboration with Service Advisors and ensure repair orders are generated in advance.
- Address customer complaints as directed by the Workshop Manager, following established complaint-handling procedures.
- Advise customers on the type, scope, and cost of repairs, and follow up on any uncompleted work.
- Obtain and document customer approval for any additional repairs or services, following company procedures.
- Ensure proper handling and protection of customer vehicles at all times.
- Update repair details in Kerridge, ensuring job card entries are accurately transferred to the final invoice and all service requests are completed and documented.
- Liaise with Warranty Executives regarding any warranty or goodwill claims.
- Conduct test drives after complex repairs to verify that faults have been fully resolved.
- Follow up on all vehicles to make sure every customer has been contacted during the day.
- Ensure all personnel use the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) provided by the company.
- To strictly adhere to the Health and Safety Regulations and Company Policies.
- To report any near misses or accidents to the Health and Safety Co-Ordinator or any other staff member in the Human Resources Department.
- Other duties assigned by the Workshop Manager.

Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience within the automotive industry, particularly workshop control or technician
- Qualified Motor Vehicle Technician
- Holder of Malta/EU Driving License
